Brenda is passionate about helping business owners build confidence through a clear understanding of their numbers. After completing her business degree at Massey University, she qualified as a Chartered Accountant and headed to London for her OE. There she gained valuable experience with a large FMCG company, giving her insight into how successful businesses operate on a global scale.

Since returning home to Whangārei in 2009, Brenda has been part of the Sumpters team and is now a Director. She enjoys working closely with clients, turning financial information into practical guidance they can use to move their business forward. Her approach is down-to-earth, focused on clear communication, practical advice and long-term relationships.

Brenda is proud to have built a fulfilling career while raising her family, and that experience has shaped her approach - bringing empathy, focus and a strong sense of purpose to her work. She admires leaders who combine commercial success with integrity, and enjoys being part of a team that genuinely works together for clients’ success.

Outside the office, she loves spending time with her husband Tony and their two boys - often on a weekend adventure in the caravan around Northland.
